The Honourable Jason Kenney is an accomplished leader with a twenty-five-year career dedicated to public service.  He earned prominence in public policy when he served as President and CEO of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation in the early 1990s.  He was subsequently elected to the Parliament of Canada in 1997 and re-elected seven consecutive times to represent Calgary’s southeast, being voted as Hardest Working Member of Parliament by his colleagues from all parties.  During the Harper government, he held important Cabinet positions including Minister of Immigration, Citizenship and Multiculturalism, Minister of Employment and Social Development, and Minister of National Defence.

In 2016, Mr. Kenney began the first of several successive campaigns to unite and then lead Alberta’s free enterprise parties.  In 2018, he was elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta and was sworn in as the Leader of the Opposition.  In 2019, Mr. Kenney led his party to a majority government, and was sworn in as the 18th Premier of Alberta, initially with a focus on revitalizing the province’s economy and increasing Indigenous opportunities, and then leading through the pandemic.

Since resigning as Premier and MLA in late 2022, Mr. Kenney has joined Bennett Jones as Senior Advisor and as a Senior Fellow of the C.D. Howe Institute.
